Basics
Basics involve place value counting from the last number, which is the ones place.
Rounding is included - looking to the right of the place being rounded to - if it

is 4 or less the rounded place stayed the same and all numbers flowing are changed to zeroes.

 is 5 or more the rounded number goes up followed by zeroes.

Go over your work checking for any errors.

A scrap box should be used to do the calculations. Try not to get into the habit of doing your scrap work on another piece of paper. It is much easier to find a mistake if all the work is in front of you and located close to the problem.
